Abbey Pobee: Veteran Football Administrator advises President Akufo-Addo To Sack Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah

A veteran football administrator, Mr. Jonathan Abbey Pobee, has called on President Akufo-Addo to immediately dimiss sports minister Isaac Kwame Asiamah if indeed he wants the best for Ghana Football.

Speaking in an interview with host of Abusua Nkommo Kwame Adinkrah, Mr. Pobee contended that Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi were in enormous occasions dealing with the sector minister and that he was privy to most of the ‘evil’ things the CAF first vice president was doing at the FA.

He is therefore questioning why the sports minister is still at post, insisting he should be fired as soon as possible to ensure a new team is set up to steer the affairs of football in the country.

”If the president will listen to me then I will advice him to reshuffle the sports minister Isaac Asiamah or sack him” he mentioned.

”The minister [Isaac Asiamah] has been dealing with former GFA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi for some time now so if government is presently taking steps to dissolve the FA then why not sack the minister as well” the vociferous football administrator quizzed.

FIFA, on Friday banned the longest serving Ghana FA boss from all football activities by the Ethics Committee following an expose by ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Mr Nyantakyi is currently being investigated by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service for collecting bribe and also using the names of President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to solicit bribes.

Meanwhile, Government has dissolved the GFA as a result of the rot unearthed by the documentary.
