THE GHANA Blind Sports Association (GBSA) will this year organise a goalball competition for three regions — Greater Accra, Ashanti Region and Brong Ahafo Region — at the Kwame Nkrumah University campus on Friday, May 25, to commemorate this year’s African Union Day.
This will be third in the series after Eastern Region and Greater Accra have hosted the previous events.
The activities form part of measures to popularise the sport in Ghana and also prepare the regions ahead of the national goalball, blind football showdown and athletics competitions to be held in Tamale in August this year.
The visually-impaired athletes will engage in goalball competition between male and female teams.
The GBSA is the sports wing of the Ghana Blind Union, affiliated to the International Blind Sports Federation and mandated to develop blind sports in association with the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana.
