Ebony Wins ‘Artiste Of The Year’ at 2018 VGMA

Dancehall diva Ebony Reigns has posthumously won the ‘Artiste of the Year’ at the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) held on Saturday at the International Conference Center.

Ebony is the first female artiste to ever win this prestigious award which has over the years been won by the male artistes.

The dancehall diva who died through motor accident in February, 2018 also won the ‘Album of the year’ for her ‘Bonyfied’ album which was released in 2017.

Songstresses Efya, Adina, Mzvee and Akosua Agyapong performed some of her songs to the admiration of the audience.

She also grabbed the ‘Afro Pop song of the year’ for her hit song ‘Sponsor’.

Her manager Bullet won the ‘Songwriter Of The Year’ for ‘Maame Hwe’.

Sarkodie took home the ‘Hiplife/Hiphop artiste of the year’ award.

The ‘Best Group Of The Year’ award went to Wutah.

Kuami Eugene won the ‘Highlife artiste of the year’.

Shatta Wale ft The Militants took home ‘Best Collaboration Of The Year’ for Taking Over.
