Former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, under the NDC government, Joseph Yamin has advised delegates of the ruling New Patriotic Party [NPP] not display the spirit of ungratefulness to Mr. Bernard Antwi Bosiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi in the upcoming regional elections.
According to him, Wontumi has clearly demonstrated to the NPP over the years that he’s capable of leading the party in the region and that delegates should give him a second chance to lead the Ashanti Regional wing of the NPP.
Chairman Wontumi is seeking re-election as chairman of the NPP in its upcoming regional elections slated for April 21, 2018 and is likely to go unopposed following widely spread report that his contender Asare Bediako has been persuaded by some bigwigs of the governing NPP party to pull out of the race.
Speaking on Abusua Nkommo hosted by Austine Woode, the former deputy sports minister said ” I think Wontumi deserves to lead the Party in the Ashanti Region because he has to pass through the ranks in the party and get the top”.
He added ”I have a very good relationship with Wontumi, in fact the only difference between me and Wontumi is politics. I was personally part of the team that supported Wontumi to contest for the regional chairmanship position in his first attempt”.
” With what he has done so far in the party I don’t see why he should not be given a second chance to lead the party they just shouldn’t be ungrateful to him’’.
