My eyebrows made me popular – Nana Ama McBrown

FELICITY AMA Agyeman, known in showbiz as Nana Ama McBrown, has revealed that aside her talent in acting, singing and writing of songs, she became popular on the screen due how she draws her eyebrows.

According to McBrown, though she is talented, her style of make-up boosted her brand to earn her popularity.

Speaking at the ‘Glow and Mingle soiree`, International Women’s Day edition’, she entreated all make-up artistes present at the event to be innovative and creative with their brands  and not just copy styles they see in magazine, social media and from celebrities  to service their clients.

She said, “As professional make-up artiste, be innovative, don’t copy Nana Ama’s style for Adwoa Mensah. They are two different individuals with different face shapes and skin tones. Even when the clients want my style and you think it won’t go on well with their face shapes and skin tone, be professional enough to give them reasons why it won’t suit them and do what suits them.

Turning her attention to the business sector, McBrown said, “As women, we should hold each other high in our endeavours. The fact that you are in the same profession shouldn’t put you in a boxing ring. Most women want to do all even when their colleagues have no clients.”

Also speaking on innovation in the make-up sector, Mrs Nikki Boa-Amponsem, (CEO) of 2nd Image International, asked make-up professionals to do more research in order to be informed enough so that they would not end up damaging people’s faces with products that are not right for the skin type of the client.

‘Glow and Mingle Soiree`’was organized by Make-Up Ghana, organizers of Ghana Make-Up Awards held to celebrate and discuss issues relating to women in the Cosmetology industry.

The soiree` was part of the 2018 International Women’s Day celebration, which was held on March 13, at the Accra City Hotel.

The event was graced by Miss Rebecca Donkor, Chief Executive Officer of Make-Up Ghana, McBrown, Mrs Boa-Amponsem, Abena Brigidi, CEO of Nimed Capital, Nana Akosua Asante, Managing Partner at MiddCol Law, and a host of Make-Up big brands and professionals in Ghana.
