Take Ownership of Government’s Policies to Ensure it’s Implementation- Bawumia to Chief Directors

Vice President of the Republic,  Dr.  Mahamudu Bawumia, has charged Chief Directors of all Ministries in Ghana to take ownership of all government’s policies and engineer their implementation as principal officers of the Ministries.
Delivering the keynote address at a Macroeconomic Policy Dialogue for Chief Directors of all Ministries in the country jointly organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Regional Integration  and the UN organ, Economic Commission for Africa, the  Vice President said Chief Directors of the Country’s ministries are the lifelines for the effective management of the State agencies.  To that end,  Dr Bawumia urged the Chief Directors to embrace all the flagship programmes of government and work hard to get them implemented for the benefit of the citizenry.
“We know that fundamentally unless the Chief Directors,  Technical Directors at ministries take ownership of these programmes,  we will be giving a lot of talk and there will be little implementation because it is very important that implementation is done. If there is Synergy  between,  Ministers, Chief Directors and the Political Authorities in implementing the Programmes of government,  then we will have success” the Vice President said.
