I would have blacklisted contractors over shoddy work if I had power- Minister

Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr Simon Osei-Mensah has said that he would have blacklisted some lazy contractors in Ghana if only he had the supremacy to do so.

According to the minister, there are numerous contractors in the country who do not deceive to be awarded any contract taking into consideration how badly they executed the previous ones awarded them.

He argues such people are keep causing financial loss to the state and do not see why they should be handed any future contracts.

In an interview with Kwame Adinkrah on Abusua Nkommo, Mr. Osei-Mensah indicated that though there are some road contractors who are doing extremely job in the country, a portion of them continuously have demonstrated clearly with their appalling roads construction why they do not merit future contracts by government.

”Kwame let me tell you If I Simon Osei-Mensah had the power, I would have blacklisted some road contractors in this country because of how bad their works have proven to be over the year”

”Isn’t it bad that some contractors in this country are handed contracts and just after six months you see their works in a very deplorable state he asked”

”Such people should not be offered any future contracts” he concluded.
