Fired Kotoko Coach Polack describes club as ‘visionless’

Former Asante Kotoko coach Steven Polack has lashed out at the club, describing the two-time African champions as ‘visionless’ and ‘without a plan’ for the future.

The English trainer before his departure to native country bemoaned the lack of planning at Kotoko and says anytime he has the opportunity to work with a Ghanaian club again, he would love to be at a club that appreciates planning.

Polack, 57, was fired last month after he failed to guide Kotoko through to the group stage of CAF Confederation Cup. The Porcupine Warriors suffered a first round exit at the hands of Congolese side CARA Brazzaville.

“I’m a bit sad that I’m leaving. I feel like, I need to go home, have a little break; get refreshed mentally and physically, spend some time with my family and who knows I could be back here in a couple of weeks’ time” Polack told Accra based Citi FM.

“But if I was to come back to Ghana, It has to be a club that actually has a vision and plan, and a strategy for one, two, three-four-five seasons and they are ambitious. Not like hey! We got to win today otherwise you are out,” he said. he said.

Asked if he thought Kotoko didn’t have a plan, he replied: “Well, let’s just say, I don’t know what the planning order is so you need to ask them what the plan is. I don’t know what the plan is…”

George, Steven Polack, joined the Porcupine warriors in middle of last season. He won the MTN FA Cup and finish 5th in the league.
