ASANTE KOTOKO Sporting Club will commence their frantic preparations ahead of the intriguing second leg encounter with nine-times Congolese Champions Club Athletique Renaissance Aiglon (CARA) at Brazzaville in the preliminary round of CAF Confederation Cup at the Adako Jachie training complex this morning.
Kotoko on Sunday pipped CARA by a lone goal at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the first leg of the Confederation Cup.
Former AshantiGold striker Yakubu Mohammed came off the bench to convert a late penalty to hand his side a much-needed victory after three penalties have been unfathomably squandered by Sadick Adams, Amos Frimpong and Baba Mahama.
The second leg fixture which is expected to be played on Wednesday, February 22, 2018 will be a herculean hurdle for Kotoko to climb.
Last Sunday, put up one of the breathtaking performance in recent times but failed to realise more goals to make the second leg a mere formality but English trainer, Steve Polack believes that, with the brilliant performance put up by his lads in the first leg, there is still hope that they will secure qualification against CARA Brazzaville in their own backyard if they are able to repeat that and even more.
Today’s recovery training session is expected to last for an hour after the players were given two-days off duty.
