NANA APPIAH Mensah (NAM), Chief Executive Officer and founder of Zylofon Media, who came under severe backlash from the public on his Tweet commemorating Ebony, has explained his post on Zylofon FM.
In an interview with Sammy Flex on the Showbiz Agenda, the businessman stated that his message was just a tribute to the deceased nothing more nothing less.
“I do not see anything wrong with the post, I was only recounting the details of our meeting because those were her exact words and I quoted her verbatim.”
Mr Mensah expressed shock at the feedback and stated that while the only thing people could talk about after the incident was poor road system and other spiritualities, he decided to come from a different perspective.
“I said we should pay attention to our female artistes in the last part of my message. It has always been my conviction that there has to be some advantage for them since it is a male dominated industry.
“This was the main subject matter of my tribute that is exactly what I wanted to project which is why that part was in caps.”
Concerning the issue of Ebony wanting a bailout and reports of him arranging a meeting without the knowledge of her manager, NAM revealed that the people behind such assertions are doing so “intentionally” and that it is“far-fetched”.
“I’m also hearing things about me wanting to sow where I have not reaped. The person himself [Bullet, Ebony’s manager] had said on your platform [Zylofon FM] and it is in the public domain that if there was an offer and the money was good he would give her up.
“So if my sister Ebony comes to me and says that bro I need to satisfy an exit and termination clause in our contract so help me pay 100,000 dollars to Ruff Town Records and I can afford it, what is the big deal about that?” he asked.
NAM said Ebony pleaded with him to pay her manager off in order to ‘free’ her.
According to him, he had met up with Ebony and had agreed on terms of contract with Ebony and was on the verge of signing her until her demise.
He this on Twitter and while eulogising the artiste said, “we had a fruitful meeting and reached an agreement just last Tuesday.
“I hope you’re free now and finds absolute peace in the bosom of the almighty God. Let’s pay critical attention to our female artists,” the big time Showbiz mogul said.
Ebony and other two others – her bodyguard and personal assistant lost their lives on Friday through a motor accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi road at the Mankranso stretch.
