The Queen Mother of Bobin, a community near Asante Mampong Nana Abena Frimpomaa II, has indicated that the people of Mampong are ready and will soon marshal resources to face nomadic herdsmen who have relocated to the area should government fail to drive them away immediately.
According to her, the people of Mampong and its environs are tired of the unscrupulous activities of the Nomadics and their cattle and that she is ready to lead a team to forcibly sack them entirely from the community.
Nana Abena Frimpomaa, however appealed to government and the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council to come to their aid by assisting them with the needed security forces to help them kick the nomadics completely out from the area.
It’s really sad that upon on the numerous murder the nomadics have committed in Agogo that have now relocated to Bobin the largest farming community in the area. She told Nana Ama Annor who sat in for Kwame Adinkrah on Abusua Nkommo.
According to her, though there are cattle in her community, they aren’t ready to accommodate the Fulani Herdsmen.
”We the people of Mampong are not ready to leave with the Fulani Herdsmen who have relocated here, we are simply not ready to welcome them and we want them to vacate our community as soon as possible. I won’t sit here to them to take over our lands and destroy our farms”
”I personally have 50 acres of land for farming mixed with Cashew and maize but the Fulani people and their cattle have destroyed everything to the which has become a very huge problem for us”.
”We all know what this Fulani people can do because of what they did in Agogo therefore we won’t give them the room to operate and later start killing my people here, no never will that happen as far as I am concern”
She added that the cattle which have been moved there are not only those from Ghana but comprises those from Mali and Niger.
The Queen Mother also slammed the nomadic herdsmen for their involving in Armed Robbery and also killing people in the Mampong area, a situation she indicated worries her and that she would do anything possible within her capacity to safe the people of Mampong from any future occurrences.
