Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko were both handed 2-0 and 1-0 defeat respectively by Medeama SC and Dreams FC in match day two of the ongoing GHALCA G8 tournament on Wednesday.
A goal each by striker Kwame Boateng and Agyenim Boateng was enough for the Yellow and Mauves to beat the Phobians who pipped Kalera United 1-0 in their opening game.
Kwame Boateng shot impressive Medeama SC in front in the first half to increase his Goals tally to 3 before Agyenim Boateng made it 2-0 in few minutes later.
Coach Frank Nuttall and his charges did all that they could but their efforts were just not enough to get them at least a consolation Goal.
Elsewhere at the Baba Yara stadium Richard Addai’s lone goal ensured Dreams FC handed Kotoko a painful 1-0 defeat.
The Porcupine Warriors had chance to pull parity after they were offered a penalty in the second half but striker Frederick Boateng missed it leaving the fans dejected in their quest to record their second victory in the tournament having beaten Techiman Eleven Wonders 1-0 on Sunday courtesy Obed Owusu’s penalty goal.
