Robert Asare Bediako, New Patriotic Party Chairman for Asokwa [Kumasi] is confident of massively defeating Mr. Bernard Antwi Bosiako also known as Chairman Wontumi in the Ashanti Regional Chairmanship position next year.
The aspiring NPP Regional Chairman argues he has worked enough to give his biggest contender chairman Wontumi a shock come 2018 when the Ashanti regional elections are held.
According to him though Wontumi helped the party to defeat its closest rivals NDC ,his efforts alone couldn’t have won the 2016 elections for the New Patriotic Party especially in the Ashanti Region indicating it was a collective effort by all party members in the region.
”People say Wontumi helped NPP to come to win the 2016 elections but I can tell you it was a collective effort but seriously I think we need someone who can help the party sustain power for long”
”Wontumi has done his best for the party but for NPP to sustain power for long I think the party need someone like me to enable us achieve that dream”
The party’s national and regional elections will be held in June 2018.
Speaking on Abusua Nkomo hosted by Kwame Adinkra on Friday, the astute politician said ”Kwame I am confident of beating Womtumi despite his popularity come next year. I will defeat Wontumi by God’s Grace”
” I know I have worked tirelessly for the party in the region and that alone is enough motivation for the delegates to vote for me to lead the party. That doesn’t mean i am going to relax going into the keenly contested election but the response i get from party members in the region give me the courage to champion my course of winning against Chairman Wontumi”. added confident Asare Bediako.
Mr. Asare Bediako however refuted claims that the opposition National Democratic Congress has been in support of his decision to contest Mr. Bernard Antwi Bosiako.
”I sometimes laugh when I hear people say that I am being sponsored by the NDC to contest Wontumi, I have been a staunch supporter of the NPP. I even gave my car to the party during the 1992 campaign.
