Kumasi Asante Kotoko head of communication Obed Acheampong admits the Phobians are favorite coming into Sunday’s Ghana Premier League week 22 outstanding crucial fixture at the Baba Yara sports stadium.
The Porcupine Warriors who were involved in a disastrous accident last month on their way back to Kumasi after suffering a 1-0 defeat in the hands of Inter Allies will for the first time be playing a competitive game against arch rivals Hearts of Oak and the management member has tipped Frant Nuttull’s side as favorite to win the big clash.
Nonetheless, he believes Kotoko could pull a surprise to Hearts who have been playing actively since the unfortunate accident which happened at the Nkawkaw Highway considering the keenly contested rivalry between the duo.
Speaking on Abusua Sports Arena hosted by Kofi Larbi [Governor’, Obed Achempong said ”Hearts of oak are favorite in this Sunday game. They have been playing active football as compared to Kotoko.
Remember, this is the first time Kotoko is playing a competitive match after that fatal accident.”
He however appealed to Dally-Gagba and his two assistants Bawa Haruna and Ben Vormawor to protect five of their players who currently part of the Black Stars ‘B’ team who are preparing for Ghana’s CHAN qualifiers against Burkina Faso later this month.
”We have five Kotoko players in black stars camp and the referee must protect these national assets.”
Hearts of oak does not play good football and that’s their trademark.”
”A typical example is what happened between Atinga and Saddick Adams.”
